After a few days of Amsterdam goodness, my friend and I headed Northwest to check out one of the Netherlands popular tourist attractions. Zaanse Schans is a neighborhood that takes you back to the 18th and 19th centuries. It houses windmills, many museums and shops but there are also residents who live and work here full time.  You can step into history… see how breads, cheeses and clogs are made in the windmills, barns, workshops. Def interesting and worth the fee for parking.
